Posted on: November 14th, 2013 by RF Ohl

Check out our latest interview, being streamed live on air with Steve Ohl. Steve is discussing R.F. Ohl’s services, namely heating oil delivery and the support services that R.F. Ohl provides to the Allentown, PA area and all of the Lehigh Valley. Such services like installation and servicing of heating systems as well as sales of fireplaces at R.F. Ohl’s showroom in Lehighton.

Heating Oil Delivery to Allentown PA & Beyond…

Steve Ohl, President of R.F. Ohl, talks about Ohl’s service offerings for Allentown heating oil and heating. The company has been around for almost thirty years, and has evolved into a bigger and more comprehensive service company catering to heating and cooling needs throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, including the Lehigh Valley. Ohl is currently providing heating oil, propane, and kerosene along with serving heating systems and HVAC systems.

Aside from oil delivery in the Lehigh Valley area, Ohl also installs and services heating systems, part of which is the installation of furnaces, boilers, and basically all forms of heating equipment, including natural gas, propane, electric, heat pumps… everything related to heating and cooling systems.

If a homeowner in the Lehigh Valley has a heating problem or needs a new heating system at home, R.F. Ohl can provide complete and full servicing and they operate 24 hours each day. A customer service representative is always available to answer calls 24/7.

solar powered systemsBut aside from the servicing heating systems, R.F. Ohl also deals with solar-powered systems and equipment including geothermal, electric, and other types of energy products, including tank-less  hot water systems. Basically, when it comes to energy, heating and cooling, R.F. Ohl can provide a solution for your needs.

Ohl handles many different brands of heating and cooling systems. For instance, they service and repair heat pump brands like Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, and others. They can do installations for any major brands of heating and cooling systems as well.

Additionally, R.F Ohl also deals with highly efficient, System 2000, a kind of boiler from Energy Kinetics that is popularly used today because of its more advanced and efficient attributes. While this system is truly efficient, it is more complicated than normal systems. Due to the complexity, many other contractors in the Lehigh Valley do not install and/or service these systems.

Split Unit Systems: More Practical and Super-Efficient Alternative to Traditional HVAC Systems

Homes need both air conditioning and heating, both of which are essential when it comes to providing comfort the entire year. But if there is onemini split thing that gives homeowners the hesitation to install them is the cost. The installation in an existing home is often times complicated and expensive due to the need of running new duct work and other installation complications. But, the headaches of retro-fitting a home with traditional HVAC system can be avoided with the mini split system. It consists of an indoor head unit that supplies the heating and cooling inside and the outdoor unit that is connected to the indoor unit. The outdoor unit is placed outside and only a small pentration is made through the wall. And because this type of system only requires very minimal wall penetration and disruptions, the installation of this type of unit is not just easy, but also fast and less costly. In fact, everything is done inside a day. Generally speaking, it will cost the homeowner less than half the cost of the usual heating system. And the best thing is that they work and operate in the same level of quality to that of comprehensive and traditional heating systems.

Tank-Less Water Heaters

Tank-less water heaters meanwhile are another type of heating equipment intended to provide domestic hot water with utmost efficiency. It is ideal for energy conscious people.

Summer Season Services

Aside from addressing heating needs during the cold season, R.F. Ohl also offers air conditioning services during the summer months. They specialize in the installation and servicing of Trane, Fujitsu, and Mitsubishi units.

To reiterate, Ohl provides services to five counties in Eastern PA including, oil delivery, HVAC service, heating repair and installation, propane delivery, and more.

Steve Ohl Interview Discussing Orefield Heating Oil Delivery And More

Posted on: November 12th, 2013 by RF Ohl

Watch an interview with Steve Ohl, discussing Orefield heating oil delivery, customer service and some questions from viewers.

Steve Ohl, the president of R.F. Ohl discusses the company’s oil delivery service and other related services within a fifty-mile radius of Lehighton PA including Orefield, the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos in Pennsylvania, covering five different counties. In this discussion, some of the most frequently asked questions about heating and heating oil are be tackled.

What Separates R.F. Ohl from the Rest of the Heating Oil Delivery Companies?

oil deliveryMost heating oil delivery companies focus on getting as many customers as possible without regard to the quality of service they provide. But for R.F. Ohl, the emphasis is on customer service. For one, they always make sure that a customer who inquires about the services will be able to talk to a representative 24 hours a day. It means everyone can call and seek help and assistance any time of the day.

Every aspect of operation is likewise intended to make life easier for customers. That being said, R.F. Ohl can be reached through email, Facebook, and Twitter. The online presence also includes online ordering and payments. Additionally, there is full service and delivery even for propane based heating systems. There is also an open policy asking customers of the experience they have with the service, encouraging customers to provide feedback about services, good or bad.

The goal is being as proactive and customer-friendly as possible. This type of service is something that is not common in other oil delivery companies especially those that are focused solely on supplying oil and nothing else. Another differentiator is Ohl’s commitment of being proactive in engaging with the community by hosting and/or participating in community fundraising events, as well as sending newsletters and information to customers on a consistent basis.

Furthermore, Steve answered a bunch of questions from residents and homeowners:

Q1 – Orefield PA listener asks, can diesel be used in the heating system?

dieselA – Absolutely yes. Diesel actually won’t hurt anything. In fact, it is lower in sulfur content, which means it burns a little cleaner. But obviously the downside is that it is more expensive compared to traditional heating oil. So it’s not really something that anyone would want to use for long term purposes. It is worth noting though that R.F. Ohl uses an additive in its heating oil to keep the burning as clean and as safe as possible. There are very few heating oil delivery companies that actually put additive in their oil considering the additional expense needed to have it. R.F. Ohl goes the extra mile and includes this additive which ultimately pays off for the consumer because aside from the fact that it is cleaner, it also keeps the tank cleaner and the oil burns cleaner, thus the heating system filters don’t need to be cleaned out as often.

Q2 – Do I have to put oil in the tank during the summer season when I don’t need to use the heating system?

A – The best scenario in this instance is that if you have half a tank or probably lesser, it is highly recommended topping it off, especially if the heating oil tank is situated outside instead of the basement. This is to prevent the effects of condensation in the inside, which by the way is caused by the constant changes in temperature outside.

Q3 – What is the projection of heating oil in Tamaqua PA and gas prices this winter?

A – A report issued by the Energy Information Administration says that in the near term, natural gas prices will rise approximately two percent and it will continue to climb to five percent of where it was last year. Heating oil on the other hand is expected to drop about nine percent. But it has to be pointed out that projections are literally projections – which mean you cannot really fully rely on them. But they are a good stuff to weigh on because they are based from historical data combined with expert views.

Q4 – Do you deliver heating oil to Orefield PA and do I have to be home when the oil gets delivered?

A – Yes, R.F. Ohl delivers heating oil to Orefield PA. Now the only time you have to be home is during the first delivery. During the first delivery, the company wants to make sure that everything is okay including the piping to the oil tank and if the air vent is working the way it is supposed to. Anyhow, being home at the first delivery is also something that you would want to in order to avoid any risk or kind of accidents. But the delivery, even the first one is as quick and fast as it can get. Everything can be done in roughly five minutes including the inspection of the piping and vent. But after the first delivery, there is no more need for you to be home for the next deliveries.

Q5 – New Ringgold PA viewer asks what is the difference between will-call and automatic delivery?

A – As the term suggests, will-call means you just see you tank and make the decision if you need a delivery. But heating oil companies have specific minimums for this type of deliveries. The average is a hundred and fifty gallon delivery. Automatic delivery on the other hand is the much better choice. The homeowner doesn’t have to worry about checking the tank to make sure that the oil level doesn’t get too low. The delivery will be based on annual usage integrated into a formula with the heating degree of the day. The accuracy and preciseness of the company’s calculation guarantees that the homeowner will never run out of oil. Just to make sure everything is covered, there’s even a money-back guarantee in case it happens.
